Sunrise Dragon is very loosely based on the beautiful weedy dragons of Port Philip Bay.
It is constructed mostly from waste and found materials including off-cuts from a roller blind, wires from an old sewing machine motor and has a spiral binding backbone. Each of the discs are individually painted and stitched by hand and sewing machine using a variety of threads. The dragon perches on a wire sphere.
